Evaluation of heterosis, maternal and reciprocal effects on different traits of Fayoumi and White Leghorn crossbreeds

Several studies were conducted on evaluation of heterosis, maternal and reciprocal-effects for different chicken breeds. However, there is a limited information the reciprocal-effect crossbreed Fayoumi White Leghorn. Therefore; this study was designed to evaluate reciprocal effects traits Leghorn from day-old age at first egg. A total six hundred chicks selected,150 each genotype evaluated simultaneously under same management. The specific general maternal, estimated all traits. heterosis body weight ranged 3.06 21.31% main 1.35 14.89% crossbred, which within recommended range (-6.5-26.2%). gain -0.07 33.03%.
